Anna Tenuta
Senior Account Executive
New York, NY
As a member of the Hellerman Baretz Communications (HBC) team, Anna works with clients across various industries, from healthcare to financial services to matrimonial law, to develop strategic public relations campaigns, and creative initiatives. She consistently exceeds clients' expectations in developing creative marketing materials, executing branding campaigns, and carrying out crisis and litigation communications campaigns. Anna recently developed and coordinated extensive media outreach for an international law firm merger that continues to generate buzz and coverage. Anna's keen understanding of the media helps her to secure placements and establish relationships for clients with reporters at key national, business, legal, and trade publications including Bloomberg, The Deal, National Law Journal, The Wall Street Journal, Politico, and The American Lawyer, among others.
Prior to joining HBC, Anna was a Jeff Metcalf Fellow at the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, spearheading editorial coverage of climate change and international security issues as well as development and outreach campaigns. At the Bulletin, Anna learned the evolving nature of the media when its 'Doomsday Clock' announcement was broadcast live online, covered by more than 450 international news outlets, Tweeted every two seconds, and was even the focus of Jimmy Kimmel's opening monologue.
Anna's grasp of the power of social and online media has allowed her to excel in harnessing these channels in various campaigns as a member of the HBC team. In addition, her experience writing for a variety of publications as an undergraduate at the University of Chicago fueled her love for journalism and unique understanding of the media. Several of her stories in the campus newspaper, The Chicago Maroon, sparked responsive debate on the website, and her Q&A with television personality Jerry Springer for NOYES Magazine drew a record number of readers.
Anna graduated with honors in English Language & Literature and Political Science from the University of Chicago and remains very active in the alumni community, currently serving as co-Chair of her Class Council and co-Chair of the ParticipateChicago NYC planning committee. She is a member of the Legal Marketing Association, the Law Firm Media Professionals, New York Women in Communications, and Young Professionals in Foreign Policy.
