John C. Ford
DIRECTOR OF EDITORIAL SERVICES
John C. Ford has worn a few different hats in his day - law student, litigator, journalist - but whatever he's up to, there's always a pen in his hand. A graduate of Stanford University, where he wrote a column for The Stanford Daily, and the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as Book Review Editor for the University of Michigan Law Review, John has long paired his interest in the law with his flair for prose. At HBC, he serves as the Director of Editorial Services, using his deep knowledge of the legal profession to provide clients with:
- Winning award nominations for honors such as Fortune's "40 Under 40" list, the National Law Journal's Plaintiff's Hot List, and many others;
- Attorney "super-bios" that bring attorneys' talents to life;
- Ghostwritten articles on everything from law firm management to liabilities facing mortgage lenders;
- Web copy, including case studies that paint vivid pictures of lawyers in action;
- Inventive end-of-year letters and annual reports; and
- Ghost-blogging services that maintain your firm's voice while drawing readers in.
Prior to joining HBC, John practiced law at Wilmer Cutler & Pickering (now WilmerHale) and later turned the Legal Bisnow newsletter into required reading on the business of law in the nation's capital. In his spare time - you guessed it - he writes. He is the author of a mystery novel, The Morgue and Me (Viking), which Publishers Weekly called a "dark and stellar debut," and which the Mystery Writers of America nominated for a prestigious Edgar Award.
John is the primary contributor to Hellerman Baretz Communication's Sound Bites blog. Follow him on Twitter @JFordwrites.
