Litigator of the Week
HBC secured a prominent appellate lawyer the prestigious honor of The American Lawyer’s “Litigator of the Week” in the spring of 2009. Though the subject matter of the actual case was somewhat dry (to do with arbitration provisions), HBC pinpointed the story that made the lawyer’s 6-3 Supreme Court victory stand out: the win reversed a Sixth Circuit ruling based entirely on a decision by then-Judge John Roberts of the DC Circuit (now-Chief Justice Roberts); he had successfully convinced the Court to disavow Chief Justice Robert earlier opinion. In highlighting this fact, HBC’s creative submission secured Litigator of the Week and accolades from the lawyer’s peers and clients followed.
